4 pillars at Kristin Vora Nutrition:
1. Non-Diet Approach
I utilize an evidence-based, non-diet nutrition philosophy. I believe that all foods can and should fit. I believe all bodies are good bodies. I strive to help you ditch the diets for good and to develop a more flexible relationship with food through mindfulness, body respect, and Intuitive Eating principles.
2. Client-Centered Approach
It is my highest priority to treat all of my clients with the utmost kindness, compassion, and respect. I practice through a trauma-informed lens, striving to establish a safe, therapeutic environment for all clients. I believe that mental and emotional health are just as important as your physical health.
I approach the nutrition counseling process individually and collaboratively, utilizing a team approach. My goal is to empower my clients to make progress towards established goals that are based on their values.
3. Weight Inclusivity and Body Respect
I truly believe that every person I meet has inherent worth and value, regardless of the size of their body. I believe that individuals of all body weights and sizes can pursue a healthy relationship with food and their body.
As a Health at Every Size practitioner, I celebrate body diversity, challenge cultural and scientific assumptions related to weight and body size, and value body knowledge and lived experiences.
4. Mindfulness
I believe mindfulness is the foundation of lasting recovery. Mindfulness is the act of bringing awareness to the present moment, all while accepting your feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Mindfulness is a therapeutic technique used and encouraged in every individualized nutrition session.
